My Interests
My interests vary; I´ve been fascinated by the internet since Chris first gave
me free rein on his PC about 11 years ago. I also follow Everton and The Saints and
like to get to as many games as possible. I love cooking, reading and fishing, when
work and family life (the wife) permit. I currently coach my sons under 7´s
football team and am due to take my FA Level 1 coaching badge this year.
The Path to Essio
I joined the Royal Navy straight from school less than a month after my 16th
birthday and enjoyed nearly 9 years of ‘seeing the world differently’.
I was fortunate enough to visit most of Europe, The Caribbean, Africa, The Americas
and the Far East during my time as well as meeting many great friends a long the
way.
After leaving the Navy I held several sales and management positions, none of which really created any sort of long term buzz for me. I´d known that the Navy would not be a lifetime career for me from an early age and quickly realised that sales wouldn´t do it either. I had always harboured the ambition to run my own company and to do things ‘my way’.
I met Paul whilst running a Web Design company a few years ago, Chris joined us at the same company; in time we began to discuss the bigger ‘internet’ picture.
Selling and creating websites was one thing, but what really interested us was what made search engines click: i.e. what made one site appear higher in the results than another similar website and how valuable could that be to a business?
My Beliefs and Business Ethics
I believe very much in the statement ‘a fair days work for a fair days pay’.
To me this equates to charging a fair price, that covers the work, time and effort
spent, whilst providing value and a return on investment.
Chris, Paul and I share the belief that in order for our company to ‘stand out’ from the crowd and to succeed in a very difficult climate we need to set certain precedents, such as;
