Welcome to my page on this mad site. I hope that your exploration so far has been an adventure, and that you find my information interesting.
What I Do
I am in charge of:
Website design; creatively building designs that closely reflect a clients’ image or product; Programming; developing websites and applications that are efficient and search engine friendly; Logo design; creating simple and complimentary logos that coincide with their company’s personality; Digital advertising; construction of effective and memorable adverts.
My Life Before Essio
When I finished secondary school, all I knew was that I wanted to work with computers, perhaps 3D
design or computer games. With a general idea of where I wanted to go, I got into hardcore studies
of Computing Technologies, Internet and Computer Aided Design.
Fully qualified but not sure about which direction to head in, I settled into an Internet Security position providing Internet Security Communications for companies like Jessops, Argos, Homebase, and Dixons, to name a few. This position gave me the insight I needed to understand the possibilities and opportunities of the Internet. Looking for a change, I decided to move to Liverpool, hoping that city life could open new doors.
Within our first two weeks in Liverpool I landed a position in telesales: not the greatest job, but I was swiftly promoted to Senior Designer after offering to fix a few clients´ websites. It was here that I realised I was unintentionally building search engine friendly websites; it seems I think that same way the search engine designers do... who knew?!
It was here that I met John and Chris, before that company came to a halt as a result of offering too good a service for too cheap a price. This of course led us lads to join forces and build Essio Marketing.
Why I Love My Job
I think my job is wicked, but then I’m a nerd. Luckily for me I have a natural ability to think
the same way search engine programmers do, which of course is an awesome advantage. But the best
part is that I get to work in everything that I have always wanted to work in, like 3D Design,
video, programming, social media, yadda yadda. Another peak has to be that we have such happy
clients - we may not have the cheapest products on the market, but the quality is something to
shadow the competition.
Spending Spare Time
Most of my spare time is spent with my family, having days out and generally having a laugh. I
also enjoy learning and researching to keep my mind active, which usually ends up with me
researching something related to the business; at least it keeps me on top of my game! The
hobby that gets me out of bed at 6 in the morning is keeping fit, which involves jogging,
weight training, martial arts and running after the kids! I have recently taken up
photography, as a result of struggling to find the right images online - keep an eye out for
my uploads. One final interest I pursue is raising money for charities such as the Make a Wish
Foundation, Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Liverpool and the NSPCC. I also sponsor a Vietnamese
girl called Quyen with ActionAid.
